Research and expertise by topic:
I am interested in (im)mobility related topics, in particular sedentariness, the ordinary ethics of mobility, migration policies, undocumented migration, entrapement, social and spatial mobility. Regarding borders, I am interested in 'borderliness', in regional integration, and in the EU policies of externalization .

Research and expertise by region:
My work focuses on the Soninke of the Upper River Region of The Gambia. My research was conducted near the border with Senegal (Velingara), and in Serekunda, Gambia's urban area
